Simple Cinnamon Rolls
2 3/4 of flour
3 Tablespoons of unbleached granulated sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons of quick rise yeast or a packet
1/2 cup of water
1/4 cup of milk of your choosing
2 Tablespoons of salted butter (if using unsalted butter use 1 teaspoon of salt instead)
1 large egg
Prepare the dough by mixing flour, sugar, and yeast together. In another bowl place water, milk and butter, heat until butter is melted. Stir the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients and add the egg. Knead together for about 4 minutes either by hand or mixer. Allow dough to rest 5 minutes while you make the filling. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes and shut off.
1/4 cup of butter, softened
2 Tablespoons of ground cinnamon
1/4 of brown sugar
Mix butter, cinnamon and brown sugar altogether and set aside.
Roll Dough to about 15 inches by 9 inches. Spread the filling throughout the flattened dough and roll. Using a string or dental floss, cut roll about an inch thick and place them in your 9 by 13 inch pan that has been lined with unbleached parchment paper. Place them in the oven for 20 minutes to proof.
After 20 minutes simply turn your oven onto bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15-20 minutes.
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2-3 Tablespoons of Milk
Stir together and top after the cinnamon rolls have come out of oven.
